My Buddy and I are headed to tajik in dec for Marco Polo and ibex...we were going in 2015 but my mother had an accident, just when I was getting ready to pay the deposit, so I had to back out and help her and my dad out...but this time we are gone .....if you keep up with SCI and USFWS then you know lions are off limits now as they have been Listed under the ESA. A lot of people are saying Marco Polo are among the next to be placed off limits to import to America. I was talking to him tonight and he is taking two groups of 5 this year, in Dec, if he can get them together. Im going in the first group where, as of now, its only three hunters, Me, My buddy( the booking agent) and one other guy from MS. If you've ever been interested in hunting marco polo sheep now is the time, as you may never get the chance again( I could be wrong). This won't be one of the ride in a jeep from camp and shoot hunts. This will be a horse back 50 miles from camp, sleeping under the stars freezing your arse off, wondering wtf was i thinking, trips of a lifetime that you will be proud of esp when your buddies walk in your house and see a monster sheep hanging on the wall....these types of hunts typically cost thousands more than the normal jeep and cabin hunt offered. Due to the relationship my Friend has with the outfitter, these hunts will be about, if not just a little less than, what you'd spend going through just about anyone else for a normal ride and shoot hunts. I could careless if anyone else goes. he doesn't care either (other than Im sure he gets a little kick back or money off price of his hunt, but by using him I know I am not getting screwed in a third world country by some shady outfitter so...) I just thought Id throw it out there incase someone has been thinking about it, but didn't know anyone or where to start...we are sending passport copies and deposits in, in two weeks. After that I think you have until March or maybe May to submit paperwork??? The balance will be due just before leaving in Nov... hunt will be in first week or two of Dec.
