This afternoon I decided to go hunt before the rain hit. I figured the deer would be moving good since the temp was falling, pressure rising, and rain moving in before dark. We have been seeing does and small bucks in the food plot almost every afternoon so that's where I wanted to be.
I got set up in the stand around 1:30. At 1:50 a small buck came running out of a small patch of woods. Then this guy came running out. He had a doe bedded down just inside the woods. One shot with the tikka 300 win mag and he dropped at 247 yards! My second biggest buck to date! Today was my last day of vacation... back to reality tomorrow!
