T/C Venture, any experience?

i didnt like the mag and the stock didnt really feel great to me.....HOWEVER they will shoot lights out and i love the 60deg bolt.
they are one of the top 1 or 2 in that price point without question.
From the few i know that have and shoot them they will shoot pretty much any factory ammo sub 1" out of the box.

I have one in 300 mag. I have the same concerns as REN, but I love the way it shoots, action, and trigger. I may carry it hunting this weekend now that you remind me of it. :grin:
Any complaints with be bolts being tight? Is it of the same quality as a Savage 116 weather warrior .270?
I was looking at either the stainless on the savage .270 or the Pred edition Venture with camo stock, barrel scope in .308?

I don't have any experience with the Savage, but I wouldn't say the bolt on the venture has any problems. Personally, I would buy the venture before I would buy the Savage. JMO

Great little rifles but I would save up and get the icon. You can find them for not much more money in some calibers and IMO they are one of the better buys in a rifle. They have great features and are extremely accurate. Mine came with a test target of .13"

I own two T/C Venture rifles 280 and 308. They are unrealistically accurate even with core-lokts. We load for them and the results are sub moa with 15 year-old boys doing the shooting.
The triggers are really nice-crisp, no creep, came at about 3.5 pounds.
The 5-R rifling really does clean up perfect with very little effort.
The stock is well designed, absorbs what recoil there is from the 308 and the 280 transmits a little more than a hot 243.
Bolt is smooth and yeah, it is easy to like that half lift action.
The magazine seems to be the source of a lot of complaints as it is pure plastic and seems to load different from any I have ever used. My kids caught on right away so maybe its just me. There is a trick to insert and removing the magazine and I believe it would be easy, reallllly easy, to not get it locked in correctly and subsequently lose it in the field.
SO yeah, a surprisingly good piece of hardware.
And each rifle cost me, in my hands, less than 335.00. PM for details on how.

Almost bought one after reading this article http://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/minute- ... f-the-box/ They appear to be excellent firearms, my next gun is either a tikka t3 lite or a tc venture, just gotta wait until i can handle them both, but it doesn;t seem like you can go wrong with a tc
Seems like a heck of a deal on a great gun.
i guess i might ought to chime in, i had a tc venture predator in 223, loved it at first, shot greay, and overall really liked it, except it had a really tight lockup/ hard to extract problem with various factory loads, but i could deal with that and figured it needed more rnds down range to loosen it up, then while target shooting with my wife one day, she was shooting it and went to chamber a round and it went off upon closing the bolt. sheso to the internet i went, and i found where a father had shot a son in tn with a tc venture by chambering a round while hunting and tc had a recall out for them. now my wife had it in a safe direction as she should have and i did send it back in, and it shot great after coming back and the hard chambering/ extracting issue was gone, and i really loved it, but i lost confidence in it and my wife didnt care for it after that so it got traded for a rock river ar in 6.8spc. so my take is make sure it has had the recall performed if its used and the new ones should be good to go, me personally, i think i will stick with remingtons or brownings or savages from now on. i had a remington 700 sps varmint in 22-250 and it was amazing!
