Ok this is gonna be kinda long and hard to explain without pictures I fear.
Long story short my son dropped his gun in the river yesterday.
He took it home and cleaned it.
By clean it I mean complete dis-assembly including pulling the trigger assembly.
He put it back together and sent me a text to work the action when I got home and see if it felt "right" to me.
I got home and pulled on the slide and no it wasn't right.
It was like it was hung or something.
It would work fine but way too hard to pull back at the start.
I took it apart and noticed a wear spot.
It is at the front of the receiver right where it meets the barrel. It is on the bottom of the receiver.
I took my fingernail and slid it from front to rear on the wear spot and right at the rear of it I could feel a "ledge" and I thought that is where the carriage (?) was hanging before it broke loose when you cycled it.
I looked at the bottom of the carriage (what I am calling the firing pin assembly) and it shows no wear at all, not even any discoloration.
I took my gun apart (identical gun) and mine has a VERY slight sign of wear, just some discoloration, no real wear of the metal.
I put his back together and it cycled fine.
Not sure if "something" just wasn't perfectly lined up or what after he put it back together.
The wear concerns me and I haven't been able to search online to see if this is a common issue with the guns or what.
We clean our guns regularly, usually after every 2 or 3 hunts, and if they get any moisture at all on them like rain or dunking in the water, they are completely dis-assembled and cleaned spotless.
Oh one more thing, the gun functions perfectly, never even a hint of a hiccup.
Any clue?
