I got this pic last year, and he's about as big as any bodied deer I've ever seen or pictured. I just don't know why - we had zero acorns last year, so not as many carbs and energy for much rubbing. This timing of this pic would have been leading up to the prime breeding time last year (about 10-12 days later than normal acorn years). Testosterone filled for sure. I would have done anything for one of our guys to have killed him

That is a loooong bodied deer. Not sure about other locations, and I've mentioned this before on here in the past, but we have 2 body types of deer on our place over the years. We've killed mature bucks that are short-bodied and thick like a block (square). Others have been long and thick. The long ones outweigh the short-blocky deer by 30+ lbs at the same age. It's weird.

I personally love the long-bodied ones like in your pic

I hope he does too. You're in a good situation - I love the years you get a big deer before muzzy even opens. Pressure is off and you can go Willie-Neely on stand locations and I'm more than glad to come back a little early and be camp cook. Best of luck dude!
