The storm last night laid my sweet corn down. It also blew over some of my jalapeños and broke a couple of tomato stakes. The corn was just getting mature, so I pulled it all. About 350 ears. Kept about 200 ears and gave the rest to family.

Seeing things like this makes me think about how tough previous generations had it.

Growing a garden because you had to, not just for fun.

Just imagine how traumatic that would be if you were depending on a good harvest to survive til the next year. Those had to be some tough times.
