Met up with board member Poser and his friend on Saturday for a swamp rabbit hunt! It was mine and the dogs first time on swampers so I wasn't sure how it would go but everything was fine. A Rabbit was tough to find at the start of the day we just couldn't get into them and it wasn't for lack of trying either. We definitely went through some swamp that's for sure. Finally Sammy came through with our first jump and it seemed to not stop from that point on. The dogs circled that rabbit around and "Poser" made the shot, and a good one at that! We moved down just a bit and they got another one one and going. The 2nd one took them through all kinds of mud and water, but they stuck with him and brought him back around to the gun, a friend of mine killed him. These 2 kills are in the above video. We ended up getting 4 up to end the day on a good note taking 3 and if not for time restraints the 4th would've been taken to. I had a great time and definitely will do it again. Thanks again to "Poser" for the invite like I said you guys are more than welcome to come down anytime for a regular cottontail hunt. I had a great time!

Thanks guys!

The dogs did great. Conditions were tough with temps warming fast that always plays a part. The dogshunted hard. Once Sammy got the first one up the momentum of the day changed. I was very pleased with the dogs couldnt've asked for more from them. We were just getting warmed up and tuned in when we had to call it a day but I cant wait to do it again....big rabbits!!!!!!

Man if you guys had half as much fun as I did then Id say it was a success. I just couldnt believe the amount of droppings they were everywhere!! But when I noticed the day getting warmer faster I knew we were in for one of those days, another couple hours of running we wouldve had some heavy game bags. Again, many thanks for the invite definitley something I would do again. Ive got a little male that should really be turning on by end of summer/early fall so he ll be ready to rock!
The dish looks good!! I meant to ask how you planned on fixing it the other day!!

Nothng like rabbit hunting over a good pack!
