I have found two young deer that did not survive the snow and ice storm. Both were in low valley areas, likely trying to avoid the winds. I was worried about how hard the storm would hurt animals.

I'm sure it did a number on them. What I do hope it killed were armadillos. I'd love nothing more than to have them set back about 2 decades

Unfortunately, it did not. I saw no less than 20 while shed hunting last weekend. They are everywhere.

When I was post-season scouting the other day, armadillos were out in daylight everywhere.

I didn't see any over the weekend but I did find fresh holes in our fields from just the last couple days. I saw Grant Woods post a video of one he found that died - just froze to death after doing some digging. I'm just hoping some died. I don't know how they ate or stayed warm due to a whole week in the single digits with 4" snow and 2" of ice on top of that. No way they could have eaten or drank for days
