Summit accessory bags

Does anyone use them and if so do you still carry a backpack? I'm considering buying some if I don't have to carry a backpack anymore. If you do use them how does it pack with the stand with all your gear in them? Thanks

i have one on my stand to keep oft used items(camera,spare release...) handy. i still carry a backpack.

I have the small ones that hang off either side of the top rail. I still strap my backpack onto my stand though.

The way my upper and lower sections cradle each other when you put them together to carry on your back the brace that goes against the tree forms kindof a shelf on the bottom of the back side that I sit my backpack down in and I just strap it on with a bunjee cord.. :grin:

i just put the shoulder straps of the pack over the corners of the platform of the stand.i have padded straps on the stand. they make a world of difference for the heavier stands. my #1 stand is a OLD summit pre-cable signature(i think) series. been a lot of deer killed out of that stand over the last 15 or so years.

i tried them didnt like them cause they flop around while carrying just clip your fanny pack when done climbing

I always put the stuff I need quick access to in a fanny pack that I wear in front as a belly pack. It's a lot easier to get to than the side bags; they seemed to swivel away from me so I needed one hand to hold it and the other to un-zip it. The belly pack is right in front, so I can get at it with one hand and don't have to twist to one side. In cold weather I also use a small backpack which I carry in the climbing stand as Baxter described.

I used to do the fanny/belly pack also, but now just use a hand muff; lets me keep everything right there, and allows me to keep my hands warm with lighter gloves.

My buddies make fun of me but I have 2 of the pockets on either side of my stand and one small one in the front for my pull ropes. I keep my calls, scent killer spray bottle and book in the pockets. I also bring a small back pack which I bunge to the stand to carry in. I keep a plastic bag in the back pack and always change shirts once I get up in the stand in the early seaon or change at the bottom in the winter. to bulky to change after climbing with a bunch of cloths on.

I was just gonna post a question as to how you carry a backpsck and a climbing stand at the same time???

I strap my back pack to my climbing stand, usually with a bungee, or just a small rope

Okay.... Here's the best thing to do about putting bags on your stand. Summit bags are a little pricy. This is coming from somebody that sells Summit Stand and accessories.

Walmart has those bags that you can strap on the side of your stand with zip ties for approx. $5.00 each.

I tell my customers not to waste their money on the Summit bags unless they just have to have them....

I have and use the Summit side packs, but I also carry my pack with my stand also. However, it is easier to carry my pack because it is a guide pack and sits low so the stand is right up above it.
