Catchdawg's post made me wonder.
Does anyone trap in the Summer?
Just curious.

I would say the same about the food part, yotes are also harder to call in the summer as well so it stands to reason. I might trap a few beavers in the summer if they are causing problems but that's bout it.matt_brown":2ukb15ka said:It may just be me but I find it alot harder to trap coyotes in the summer time. I have tried trapping the same properties summer and winter and I have never been able to connect in the summer. If I had to guess I would say that food is more plentiful in the summer and they travel less but who knows

I agree and disagree with you on the calling yotes in the summer. A fresh cut Hay field is a death trap for a coyote they seem to concentrate there for fresh kills and easy meals. I've called in more coyotes in a hay field than I have anywhere. A couple summers ago we called in 8 in one morning. They were coming from everywhere.CATCHDAWG":1tsjnwc2 said:I would say the same about the food part, yotes are also harder to call in the summer as well so it stands to reason.
