Have helped my new Dunstan Chestnut trees do very well so far. These two are growing the fastest due to good potting soil, regular watering, and no browsing or serious insect feeding. My direct planted trees are also doing well, but they require tubes and more frequent care.

Thanks, have you started them in pots? If so, how are they growing? I noticed three young trees growing from seed that squirrels must have planted in a food plot near four mature chestnut trees. These seeds are tough and will grow if you protect them from animals.

Yes. Started out with smaller pots and later moved them to 2 gallon pots. I have the three chestnuts, and I think seven ambrosia apple, and seven persimmon on the porch where they get full sun from the south. No idea why some are growing faster than others, lost a couple apples that looked like something ate all the leaves off of them, had potted 10 apples.
