It's been a hard, but fun three days for Scenic City Fishing... but the Fall "Big Fish" bite is on! Whoop, whoop!

The summer doldrums have been great for eaters, but big cats have mostly been non-existent. That changed Friday.

I quickly realized my eater cats were non-existent, so I started hitting some big fish haunts and "Boom!" -- Steve Stark got loaded up on a 47-pounder. As net man, I handed off the video duties to Steve's 10-year old son, J.D., did a great job! We caught some other fish, but all paled in comparison to this one. Watch the Video

Saturday I'd already planned an "Off" Day to do some scouting with my friend Ty Konkle and Marc Cooper, the President of the UT Vols Catfish Club. We hit new territory I haven't fished in months (or years). We caught some fish, but no braggers... until 30 seconds before we about to quit. BOOM! I load up on a 43-pounder. Here's that Video

Then Sunday I was hosting David (Dip) Dhom and his brother, Frank, from Illinois. They wanted a taste of Southern catfishing, and they got it. We were on the water from 7:30 am until 4:30 am... below the Dam and above. We caught fish everywhere... not big numbers, but we rarely got bored. Dip had the hot hand and caught the two big fish of the day... a 23-pounder and a 25-pounder with an absolutely obscene gut! Here's that video

I'm glad to be back at the day job today so I can get some rest. Life is good and gettin' better every day!

P.S. I would be proud and delighted if you would "Like" the Scenic City Fishing Charters Facebook page.

I would have had to cut that 25 lb'er open, and yes, I would have ate him afterwords.
