Summer Bachelor group?

Had 3 good bucks running together and now all of a sudden there's just 2. Any guesses what happened to the other buck? Until he shows on camera I fear the worst. No highways in the area but plenty of coyotes, bear and bobcats.

I'd guess he's fine. They travel together as long as it's convenient but each still has his own agenda, and when that agenda pulls him a different direction he'll break from the group. He may rejoin the group or he might be with another group or by himself. Hard to say. Nothing to be alarmed about. It's pretty normal IME to see bachelor groups in flux like that.

Agreed. I've never worried when one disappears. He typically reappears at some point

Good deal guys, thanks for easing my mind. One of the things I don't like about cameras. I think too much into it.

I wouldn't worry about it too much this time of year. At some point, mature bucks become more solitary.

5 or 6 PNW BT bucks in our area. Some days all 6 show up, some days just one; today's, my guess is 4 or 5 years old.

Sure fun to watch.
