I'm considering moving to a light weight bolt action .223 for predator hunting. Needs to be 8 twist for my preferred ammo I have on hand. I am aware of the Ruger American Predator and the Tikka T3x having 8 twist. Are there others? Not looking for a heavy barrel target gun. Wanting something less than 7lb.

Can you think of others? Not wanting to spend custom $. Want something that will be accurate but that I won't be afraid to get scuffed up.

My Axis has a 1:8 twist. We shoot 60 gr Partitions 25 gr of H335 if I have it otherwise 24.5 gr Shooters world Tactical Rifle. Seems to like the FED GM205MAR primers. R-P brass.

We zeroed the rifle and after a cool down Son shot 5 rounds through 1 raggedy hole at 100 yards.

I cut the spring to get the pull I wanted.

Put a Boyds laminate thumbhole on it. Factory stock was okay but I like the Boyds

Weaver 6x18 44 Kaspa scope on low rings.

Rifle cost was < $250.00 from Academy.

You cannot go wrong with the Axis (DA has one).

Not sure what you're wanting to shoot out of it, but my 1:9 Savage will hold MOA with 77gn TMKs out to 300yds. I don't have a 400yd berm to see exactly when it loses stability, but it's still shooting 1.3MOA at 500.
