Suggestion for a first time coyote hunter?

I'm sure this has been asked here before...

I'm planning to try coyote hunting for the first time in January. I will be hunting on our lease up on the plateau in Sequatchie/Grundy counties. It's around 900 acres. I hear them every evening that I'm out there deer hunting. It sounds like they're everywhere. I have a 22-250 and good camo. I don't have any coyote calls. Since I'm just starting out, I really want to focus on concealment, idenfitication and shooting rather than calling, so I think I would prefer to spend the $ on a good electronic caller at this point in time. Maybe I'll get into manual calls later. What calling machine would you recommend?

Suggestions?-don't do it!! Lol you run the risk of becoming addicted to the most thrilling hunting related adrenaline rush in TN. But for an ecall Foxpro pretty much rules; they have a couple of entry level calls to up to whatever you can spend and more. My Foxpro is entry level-$200- Wildfire II. I added a Foxjack twirling decoy to it for + $50. It is a good call for the money and I have killed several coyotes off it since last Spring. I have called more with hand calls and they aren't that difficult to use. There is a place and time for both. You don't have to be a master caller-just make sounds like something distressed and dying. Movement discipline, noise discipline, wind awareness, stand selection, approach to stand, and concealment are most important. Redblood is the coyote guru here on Tndeer and he will probably chime in. And go over to Predator Masters forum and read, read, read-then get out and make your own mistakes and try to learn from them. Good luck.

Thanks! I think I'll go with a Foxpro for starters. I did not know about PMF. Looks like it's a great source of info.

Cool to hear of a fellow Texan. Do you split your time between the two states? My wife and I moved recently from Fort Worth. We had an office in Plano, so I occasionally travelled that way. I had a 1000 acre lease near Jacksboro. It killed me to give it up. Let me know if you ever need a hunting buddy.
