Stupid trapping question

When you have a brand new trap and you are going to boil it then wax it, do you remove the rubber off the jaws?
Or are they even removable?

I recommend removing it. Not necessary but it will last longer if you do.
If you don't be sure to remove wax from the jaw faces and the dog/pan areas that touch.

So I saw a video on youtube where they use a "disposable" anchor.

Just drive it in, then pull up on it to turn it sideways and that's it.
Haven't checked on the price of them but it seems to me that it would make more sense to use a "rod" that you can pull out later?

I attempted taking them off my mb550 and 650 but gave up. It wasn't fun. I have boiled mine a half dozen times with no problems.

You can use rebar stakes but after lugging them around you will probably look for some "disposable" anchors pretty quick.

Im using Berkshires and just pull them out with a 2x4 when Im done. (lever action) Ive heard good things about pogo anchors too (fender washer on a piece of cable) but havent used them yet.

I use these. When I'm ready to pull them I hook the fourwheeler winch to them and pull them or I use the truck to pull them. I trap in alot of slate so it's hard to get them out. With the ground as wet as it is you could probably pull them by hand but it's not gonna be easy.

If you use Rebar don't use a short chain. I had a yote pull a 24in piece of Rebar that was connected to a snare.

If you use rebar which I personally don't recommend,use 2 pieces in an x pattern.Stakes and a stake driver is what you need,just dig them out one day after it rains.
