Stupid boat motor question

I have a 2014 Yamaha 25hp motor
4 stroke fuel injection
Is there anything you can do in terms of re-jetting or whatever to increase the horsepower?
Buddy and I were talking about it this weekend and just wondering.
My boat needs more power to get on plane.
When I bought it my only choices were a 25 or a 40.
They make a 35 but there were exactly 0 available at the time.
I could buy a 40 or buy a 25 and build a 24X30 shop.

Try taking the 50 pound anchors out!

Prop should fox your problem.

I have a 15 horse and it gets 3 people with all their hunting gear and stands on plane no problem… albeit it tops out around 15mph

My tracker was the same. Put a (whales tail ) on it. Really helped

You can spend all kinds of money and only end up with a 28.5 HP.
Depending on the boat and load a prop/pitch may not help.
Sounds like 25 more horses would do the trick.

I know this seems obvious but have you played with the trim position. On my xpress with a 30hp yamaha tiller. If I have one buddy in there that weighs say 250# compared to just me alone at 155#. I have to reset my manual trim up on or two notches so that way when I hit the throttle the boat jumps up on plane. If not we're just plowing water when he's in there with me.

Yeah I have, didn't really make much difference for some reason.

You drag that boat over to this part of the state for a weekend of fishing and we'll stick my 30hp yamaha on that boat and see if it makes a difference

Put it on and check your rpm at WOT. Your WOT needs to be what the manufacturer recommended for the engine

I have the Yamaha 4 stroke 25hp on my 1648 modified V hull SEARK and it gets up on plane fairly easily with 3 adults in the boat.
