Went to the South Cherokee to do some squirrel hunting with a friend. Found a real nice trail where he had seen quite a few squirrels the day before. So we headed out there and as soon as we got on the trail and turned the corner a big black bear was there chowing down on grass in the middle of the trail! We tried to wait and see if he would move but nope... he just kept on eating. We decided to go to another spot that looked promising and the second we got out of the truck we saw a few running along the tree line. But once we got in the woods we didnt see a single squirrel! Fail lol
Hahah well not literally on the trail! We saw a big doe and 8 pointer on the same trail 2 days earlier. Every time we are there we see something. So I think we found a good area! Opens up into 2 different small fields which is pretty interesting. Also got some advice from an old man from Walmart who hunts in the area. Figured I would just get out and explore. I do lots of fishing over in the mountains but now I'm trying to find some good hunting spots
