I've always thought it funny how the toms show off and relentlessly follow the hens around early on...while the hens couldn't care less. You'd think being ignored/rejected for days/weeks on end they'd get the picture.
I wonder how much this warm weather plays a role in this. I have heard turkeys gobble all through deer season before. I have also witnessed them strutting in November.

Drove past a field yesterday coming back from a hike and saw no less than 40 birds in a field. A few struttin away. Was surreal.

Saw them strutting and heard them gobbling the entire rifle season.
It certainly diesnt hurt, but they always start mid January strutting their stuff

I had just left my house today and was 2-3 miles down the road when I came upon this field. Not the best video in the world but if you pause it then zoom in at the beginning you can see a strutter. First I've seen this year and got my blood moving and heart rate up. Had a car not been coming behind me I'd have stopped and got better video. There's more behind the trees I didn't get and am guessing 40-50 birds.
This weather has the birds confused.... Some must think winter is over... My son saw this egg while looking for sheds this afternoon.

Had a meeting today and left home at 10:20. Passed a farm about 10 minutes away that always has turkeys and there they were with 4 strutting their stuff. Got me fired up again! 
was he shed hunting near the chicken coop? Definitely not a turkey egg
IMPOSSIBLE! Alabama had to move their public land seasons back to April 1 because we were killing them before they were being bred and disrupting the gobbler hierarchy!!!Figured I'd add some spice to this thread.

Not a chicken egg... this was under TVA powerline ROW.... No homes or chickens anywhere in the area

We had 14 gobblers behind the house yesterday at lunch time. Every now and then, a couple would start strutting. The entire flock was definitely sorting out the pecking order. It made me dizzy watching them chase each other around.

The flock of 14 have been back most days and they must have sorted things out. I haven't seen a single one strut or peck at each other for days.
