I had a good 4th of July weekend. I went to two different parks. One was a tot lot that apparently hasn't been detected in quite some time. I found $5.51 in clad and a mess of costume jewelry. After i got home and was sorting through everything I noticed some writing on a bracelet. It turned out to be .925 Sterling Silver. That was an unexpected and good find.

The following day I decided to hit an area that was used heavily over the weekend. I can't legally dig in this area, so it was all surface finds. I had a VDI of 17 ring up on the Legend. That is usually a gold or silver necklace/ bracelet or pull tabs. So I moved the grass around after locating the find with my pinpointer. I saw a little shiny glimmer. Poking the piece out with my finger and there is sat, my first gold ring, stamped with a 14K hallmark. Woohoo! Then, messing around with ChatGTP and researching the hallmark. Turns out this is an older ring, made by Tessler & Weis, Inc. from of New Jersey. Most likely between 1960 and early 1980's. I included my AI made picture that has all the cool info about the ring.

WOW! You definitely had good hunting grounds and results. The heat has been way too brutal for me down here but hoping to get a break and start digging again in a week or 2.
I go in the morning before it gets too hot. We've had heat indexes in the 100° - 110° range lately. I'm fixing to head out to a park near the silver find park. I'm hoping it will be as neglected as the one where I found all the clad.

You say "parks". Do you mean cemeteries? Lol j/k Awesome haul!!!
Thanks. I think the cemeteries would give up much better stuff. But then you have that grave robber law to contend with, so I will stick to that parks with tot lots. 😀

Shoot have you hit up the public beach at the dam or Chester frost? No telling what you could possibly find if you were able to detect in the water at them also.
Chester Frost yes. It gets picked clean often. Not by me, but one day I will be the others to it. The Chickamauga Dam, no. That's TVA property and they a strictly against metal detecting. Although I have been there in the past. Many years ago. Somebody had already beat me to it, right after they lowered the water. I've not been back and since I spent a small fortune on the new detector I would like to keep it. They (TVA) tend to confiscate your equipment.

I would really like to find some other beaches. Harrison Bay is off limits too. That would be a great place.
