Hey everyone. I need to replace my string and I want to gather some information. What brand of bow string did you go with, how long have you had your string and are you happy. Thanks for the help.

Winner's Choice. Had this one for about 9 months and am very happy. Have had another Winner's Choice on another bow for about 3 years now and have nothing but good things to say about them.

I would recommend Bucknasty. I recently ordered a Wicked1. I haven't shot it enough to really say good or bad about them. I can say that they didn't ship the string when they said they would or pm my a tracking number when they said they would. I know I didn't like that.

the last bucknasty i ordered was awful had to redo all the servings to hit the right places, only thing they got right was the length, winners choice is the way to go

I had Vaportail Strings on my Parker. Very nice strings and super fast service!

I went on Winners Choice website and they have strings ready to order for the Z7 in traditional green/brown or olive/red

The Cuda strings that came stock on my Z7 didn't "suck" per say, but they didn't settle till about 500 shots. That was back in April and they have been dead on ever since.

i can already see this could lead to a rage like thread.good luck on finding a good set of cables and/or string for your bow. i have heard none of them are settled in until shot a bit. good luck.

hardly any peep rotation with the zebra on bowmadness. had bad peep rotation with ab on pse omen.hope he gets a good one and it settles in quick no matter which brand he picks.get it locally if you can so can be replaced if not correct.

A good string should settle right in with less than 200 shots . My Zebra strings I had on 3 of my Mathews bows took forever to settle in . I shoot them in without a peep until they settle in , then I set the peep so I don't get any rotation.
I have had very good luck with strings made of 452X . I have had vapor trail strings settle in after just a few dozen shots .

Sorry if my honest experience and opinion of Zebra strings is a little harse . I'd rather give an honest answer based on my personal experience with a product .

10 strings 10 different opinions. everyone has had a bad of everything sooner or later.americas best were suppose to be great but i had peep twist every day. mot a little either. 360 turnaround and dealer said that was best string.?????????????????? who knows???????

what we need is a swiveling ,tubeless peep. anyone got the number for the patent office? lottery aint turned out too good lately.

I just replaced my string on my PSE. Had a custom made string made by wallace brooks archery. Took him 5 days for cable and string set for around 70. Was well please with turn around time and quality. Can't beat it for the cost.

They have one. Shurz a peep,I believe is the name. It's a small plastic cylinder wiyh a hole in it. Works no matter how much your string rotates, bee using them for years.http://www.fsdiscountarchery.com/shurz- ... roove.aspx

I have had good luck and bad from Zebra strings. The set on my target bow has been great. Been on the bow for about 4 yrs. No peep rotation and as good now as it was when I first got it. Now I had one set on my hunting bow and it ,like Radar said, sucked. It would not settle in, I had it on the bow for 2 yrs. Finally got tired of fooling with it. Years ago I had a set of strings made by Cardoza, out of California. They came in 2 styles. I had a phase 2 string on my PSE and it was great. You can't get them any longer, I think.

anyone know of a place near knoxville that does good work, id like to replace mine on my mathews and would hate to send it off somewhere

Well, I chose to go with the Vaportrail string. I replaced it a week ago and love it. I have fired about 200 or so arrows through it and the string has seemed to settle after about 20 shots or so--no peep rotation, or string creep. I also gained about 5fps by switching strings. They are a top notch company. I talked to Jarrod, one of the owners, and he had the string in my hands within 72 hours after placing the order at a total cost of $82 and he added serving on the string where the STS hits at no additional charge.

I usually let the my local shop make my strings. Just make sure they are using a quality string material like 450 plus

www.prostring.com

Gentlemans name is Wes, and he's made several strings for friends of mine on another forum. His method requires only about 20-30 shots for them to take a set.

Once I installed my peep I havent had to adjust in over a year. They are solid, and have held up better than my Zebra Strings, or the Winners Choice I have purchased before. I'll never order another set of custom strings/cables from anyone other than ProString.

best customer service in the business, and the turn around time is 2nd to none!

you should really consider atleast checking them out, and talking to Wes before you pull the trigger on some.
