What is this? Found this Saturday while I was walking out from morning hunt. It was exposed on top of the ground where the old cemetery road is cut deep into the hillside. It is probably 5 or 6 feet deep. I have walked over it and drove the tractor over is many, many times. Looked like a rock with an eyeball. Looks like a cannon ball, but is not magnetic. Looks like a fossilized fruit. You can feel and hear something move inside when you shake it.

Looks like a geode, use a rock hammer to crack it open. It can have crystals or just more rock, inside.

I wondered if it was a geode. If I had found it in Arkansas, I might consider whacking it with a hammer. But I found it in Henry County, don't know if they have crystals in this area. The property was lots of rocks, but they look more like sandstone.

This thing does not have the grainy texture like the sandstone where I found it.

There are a bunch around here as well, and no never found any crystals like the one above, but they were geodes all the same. The ones I find are just dirt/rock formations with hollow portions around them.
