Strange year (Cameras) ? for BSK

For the past 4 years, I have gotten pics in late summer of every single older buck we have shot. Every single one, which isn't many but several small 8pts and a 5.5yr old 11pt.

Well.....this year.

I've personally seen 2 older bucks that I had 0 pics of all summer.

We shot a 125-130" 8pt on Saturday that as far as I can tell, I had no pics of all summer or early fall.

Our rut hits right before Christmas so I know that isn't it.

BSK, here's my question.

We are 4 years into our management program. Does the fact that our herd seems to be much more balanced and have many more older age bucks (2.5+ for us) have something to do with us attracting more older bucks in early fall?

I do find that--for whatever reason--once an area has more balanced herd dynamics (older buck age structure and more balanced sex ratio) that the area seems to attract more older bucks during the fall and rut. Why this would be is impossible to know.
