While sitting along a saddle this morning saw two doe the first one came through nonchalantly nothing weird. The second one came from a different direction behind me. At first i thought it was a dog because it was panting very heavily. When it passed by me it was frothing at the mouth and look kinda scraggly. Is that ehd? Im in monroe county and as far as i know nothing has tested positive for cwd.

Sounds like a doe in heat to me. Frothing seems a little extreme though.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think EHD is mostly a summer thing when the biting midges are out

The midges that carry EHD usually are toast after the first freeze of the year. She might have been running from a buck all morning.

Did you happen to hear any dogs barking? I saw a small buck like this once and two dogs were chasing it all over the property.

Yeah dogs were barking all over...she was probably just being chased i havent had the chance to observe alot of deer behaviour so it just kinda threw me.

Ive saw several like that the last couple weeks and a buck was to blame every time!!!!!! Any other time of year I would agree on the dogs but right now its that smelly behind causing the problems!!!
