With what some of you may remember, some hurried clearing in April, I got photos sent to me 3 days ago of a plot of Antler King's Red Zone. This was my first food plot. There was quite a bit of debris left when I threw out the seed. That will be cleared up next spring, but I am so happy with what has grown. Lots of buckwheat, lots of sunflowers. I'm hoping that mixed in there are some beans and peas. I may ver well leave this standing through the fall. I know it won't make it all the way till spring, so I may plant some WW the weekend after Thanksgiving. Super excited! My clover microplot, however, looks abysmal. I seeded heavy to try and start off with a good stand, but between shade and ridgetop, I'm very concerned about the lack of growth and establishment. I'm hoping I didn't screw up by clearing the browse and native veg.
