I'll hunt a spot this morning I hunted last week. A narrow lane runs between thick pines and a strip of hardwoods bordered on the other side by more pines. I found at least 14 fresh scrapes there last week and some looked like they were worked the morning of my hunt. My buddy let a 4.5 year old 130 go in there that same morning. It's the heaviest concentration of fresh scraping I've found since the flurry back at muzzleloader opening. It's also where I shot my buck a couple of weeks back.

Half the scrapes that were freshly worked a week ago don't look like they've been touched since. The other half are still being worked and have fresh tracks and droppings in them.

I had a big bodied buck after a doe this morning but never got a good look at his headgear. She came right to me but before the buck could get there she took off and he cut the corner running her on sight instead of following her footsteps. I couldn't get a shot. I repositioned my stand to a spot I think they are traveling and chasing through. Waiting on a NE wind...probably first part of next week.
