Steiner binoculars?

Ive had a pair since 1998. They came with a Honda ATV purchase.
Ive used them alot over the years. I cant read what model they are, but I got on thier website and the Military/Marine 8 x 30 most closely matches mine. They are green, covered in a rubber membrane and both eye pieces are adjustable. I wear glasses and take them off to look thru the bino's. Since each eye piece is adjustable, I can see clearly with them.

I've had a pair of 8X30 Predators since '97 or '98.
If there is a benefit to the predators over the regular steiner's, then it is slight. Maybe there is if you are able to compare them side by side.
I really like mine and they've been really good over the years.
The one complaint I do have about them is that each eye piece is adjustable and constantly have to be readjusted it seems. I wish they were harder to adjust or had some kind of locking mechanism to keep them adjusted from day to day.
Overall I really like them, but get tired of having to refocus them almost everyday. Others are easier to adjust with the little lever in the middle.

I have owned the Steiner Merlins 8x42 since about 2005....and they are excellent!!! the predators are a step up and help differentiate a deers coat from surrounding brush with some enhancement........would bet they are the Bomb! german made and excellent quality!!!

I have an older set (5yrs) of predators, they're junk. I took them out west when I first got them, My buddy had a pair of nikons that were much clearer and powerful. I took my sons Bushnels last year. Like I said they are about 5yrs old but I wont buy another set regardless, had black dots (debris)inside the glass right after my first trip using them, Steiner would not fix or replace them for free, money for repairs and shipping were on me, so I wont deal with them any more. Good luck

My "Go To" binoculars are an 8x30 pair of Steiner NightHunters.
Not too big, not too small, and remarkably good in low light.
Best of all, what you can see in clear focus both in front and behind an object in the view (Depth of Field) is better with these Steiners than the SWAROVSKI 8x30's and the glass is comparable.

I have two pair of Steiners:
7x50 Military-Marine (military issue, incredible clarity, but just way too large for everday use)
8x30 Hunting, model #591 (they reside in a Crooked Horn bino system harness, super bright and light weight, use every hunting day in all weather).
If you can, try out different Steiner models side by side.I was at a hunting show and thought I knew which set I wanted. Tried them, but then kept trying better models. Eventually found myself with the Hunting. Price makes a huge difference in quality, you just have to find what price point you are willing to pay for.

I've got a pair of small Steiner's Safari 10x26 and they are excellent. Visual clarity is great, compact size is also a plus. Their service is pretty good, too.
One of the hinges was loose so the "barrel" would not stay in place...I had to use both hands to use the binoculars. Not very convenient. I called and sent them back (somewhere in Colorado, they are part of Burris, I think) and they fixed them and sent them back 2 weeks later.
Lance, above, is correct that price makes a huge difference. Mine were about $125 - cheap - but what could afford 10 years ago. I think the work great so I see no need to replace them
