Steel Shot and Choke.

I've never hunted with steel shot before but I seem to recall being told to use a more open choke than if I were shooting lead. Is that right? I'm thinking about trying for ducks a day or two before the season ends because I happened to find a box of steel shot in my closet that I never got to use. It's a box full 3 inch shells loaded with #2 shot.

Would I be better off with modified or improved?

Modified would be my choice. It is said that the mod choke with steel performs like a full with lead.

I use a improved to modified just depends on where I am hunting and the distance of shots I will be taking
