Starting Lineups (Let's See them!)

It's that time of year again. The time when those who have too many calls must figure out which ones to take opening morning. After careful consideration, my starting is as follows:

1. Hook's Game Changer 3
2. Hook's Heartthrob
3. Darrin Dawkins Stoned Aluminum
4. Halloran Crystal Mistress
5. Schaffer Atomic 13
6. Strikers: tulipwood, ipe, purpleheart and dymondwood

I'll use the rest of these at some point:

1. Lonzo maple slate
2. Halloran Twisted Sister
3. Lights Out aluminum
4. Sneed Hot Hen

The YEKRUT Cut, I carry about 10 of them everywhere I go



I keep a few mouth calls on hand.




The Murphy box has been in my vest for 10 years, I wished I had 10 more of them. The RTGC box is pure turkey and I've been offered good money for it.





I also carry a RTGC Copper over slate and a glass over slate but don't have a picture handy of them.

I have a Rocky Top box call that is a killer, but I just don't use box calls that much. Nice to see a Lawrenceburg call maker getting a shout out!

Chris is a great guy and fun to hunt with. We went to Michigan back a few years ago and had a blast. I've got a ton of RTGC in my Arsenal. That Murphy call came from Wade Watson when he was making calls. I bought a bunch of them and gave them out to landowners over a couple years, I wished I would have just kept the calls and gave them crown royal instead.

Chris is a class act and I honestly do not think their is a friction call maker out there that can say "theirs are better" I went to his house last week and picked up a new box, i bused one side of min last year. I'll never buy another friction unless it comes from rocky top game calls

I'll add this as well and I'll stop with the hijack. Of you ever have the opportunity to buy one of his slate/aluminum pots in either combination, BUY IT. That is the sweetest sounding pot I've ever heard.

Absolutely. Still have a few days before the first game !

Actually, I have played with my calls alarmingly little this year and probably won't decide until Friday evening, since I am taking a juvy Saturday. It will be one of about 5 mouth calls and I will also have two pots with me if the need arises for some soft stuff.

As of right now, I've got it narrowed down to these.. may knock out one more of the crystals but haven't yet, they each sound great. I'm expecting 2 more pots in the next week or so that I am trading for so this may change some.
