I haven't ever really been a fan of wrist strap releases/index finger releases. I've shot a hinge release for probably the past 25 years with thumb trigger releases thrown in here and there. In tournaments, I always scored higher with a thumb but I would command shoot them. When I was on with it...I shot some incredible scores. But on those off days...yikes. I totally blanked one at the ASA Classic in 2017 because I jerked the bow like I was snapping a jerkbait while fishing Index finger releases just never felt high quality to me...mostly having been around Scott and TruBall. But out of great reviews...I bought my wife a Stan Solex with the clicker. I like Stan releases...love the Onnex series of handhelds. The clicker is a thing exclusively found in hinge releases to let you know where the release is in terms of how close to firing. Joel Turner got with Stan to incorporate it into trigger releases. The Solex is one of those. It's supposed to help combat target panic along with his Shot IQ stuff.

It came and I was really impressed with the trigger on it. It has the best, most crisp trigger of any index finger release I've tried. Very good. But surprisingly...that click thing really works. My wife has a tough time with smacking the trigger. This has helped her in a big way...she squeezes to the click and then settles in to precisely aim. I'm watching her go from scattered softball size groups at 20-25 yards to banging arrows off one another in golf ball size groups. I put it on yesterday to try it with my bow. I shot 3 arrows with it on. The last 2 robinhooded. If you're looking at new releases...look this one up. I'll be ordering another one for myself.

I'm the opposite of yourself as I've always shot an index. Tried hinges and thumbs but could never get comfortable enough to switch. I shoot a B3 Hawk and have for a few seasons. I've been looking at the clicker but have waited on someone that's actually shot it. May try to find one on AT and see what it's all about. Thx

I had to work this weekend but came home and was gonna go out to shoot some. I asked my wife if she was gonna shoot and she said she couldn't. Said she only had 2 arrows she could shoot. I asked her why...cause she has a brand new half dozen. She had busted the nocks off of 4 of the 6; she didn't know how to fix them. That release has helped her tremendously. I told her she'd better start shooting different spots now.

I looked on Amazon, there are a couple different models. There's the index release and the CM. They look the same to me. Is there a difference? The prices range from $94 to $140. I do notice that one says clicker, others don't. What does the clicker do differently?

Got mine in yesterday. Wow! is all I can say. INSTANTLY improved my shooting. I knew I punched the trigger a bit but never realized just how bad until shooting that release. Can't wait to fine tune the release a little bit more to my liking and see what I can do.

I've not shot for decades but back when I shot competitive the best release I ever used was a cheap 3 finger rope my coach built for me. He cut off the third finger, flipped the release and heated and bent the trigger to pull with my finger next to my pinkie. To fire you'd pull your pinkie back and it would pull both fingers triggering the release. Best release I ever shot.

There's a difference where the release attaches to the wrist strap. One has a Webb connector and the other has different kind of connector. I like the webbing myself. In each, there's the click or non click version. The one I was talking about in the original post is the clicker model.

Since that post...the release I bought for myself has stopped clicking. It still works as a release...it just sometimes clicks and sometimes doesn't. My wife's still clicks every time.

I too suffer from target panic and ordered this release a few months back and love it. I agree with everything you said, it has a great trigger.

Killed my first deer with the Solex clicker Sunday afternoon. It's definitely improved my target shooting. Strangely enough I don't really get target panic when shooting at a deer.
