I shoot #4 or #5 federals when I'm not carrying the 22 with short hollow points.

When I was young and used a shotgun #5 was my favorite, Been using a 22 for a very long time and 1 day I may have to go back to a shotgun, my favorite 22 round has been the Federal 40g sp, it use to be like a #411 but they have changed a lot of stuff, Auto match was good but several FTF. you need a good 22 in the line up 😂

Never used a shotgun much but I shot #5 or #6 high brass when I did. Now I use a good air rifle in .22 or .25.

Not a 12 gauge but a 16

Shot many a squirrel in my teen years with the first new gun I ever bought, single shot 16 ga. from Western Auto.
16 ga. Is all I ever use or used. My grandpa gave me a Stevens single shot. Still have it and there's no amount of money that could buy it. Killed many Squirrels with it.16 ga. Is perfect in my opinion.
