They'll all do quite a bit of damage with body shots. Take head shots if you want em for the table.

My .32 flinter with 25 grs. 3fg will take their head clean off at normal open sight distances.

Practice and aim small.
 
Ordered my .32 flinter lock, stock, barrel and parts from Mountian State Muzzleloading years ago. I think they are Log Cabin Shop now. Good winter time project, have it ready to go for spring squirrels.

i got a 45. cal thought that might be to large even for head shots ?? . where is wobblyshot i was wanting to talk to him about a old barrel i have for my 45. i was told i can bore it out and make a smoothie out of it for lead shot . the riflings are in bad shape any way. i have thought of a balck powder shot gun and would like to have one
 
I got the first four squirrels I shot at with my old 50 Cal CVA Mountain Rifle, using patched round ball and 25 gr FFg. The first one was actually with full deer load (95 gr) and it tore off pretty much everything in front of the ribcage. The others just had very squishy heads and shoulders.

I have a home-made 40 cal Flintlock now, but I really don't use it for hunting at all anymore. My old eyes just can't see the open sights well enough.
