Squirrel Opener Is Close

Every year about this time I get impatient for that first opener, bushy tails. Squirrels have always been the first and last game I like to go after. Yea, whitetails get a lot of attention too, but squirrels are my favorite. Those first few morning in late August are a preview of the coming hunting seasons. Got your squirrel rifles turned up? I need to get my Savage Mark II out and check the scope. What are you squirrel hunting with this season?

Savage Mark II .22 here also. Even though the woods will be hot and steamy, I will be out, wiping spider webs off my face, scanning the tree tops. I haven't missed a squirrel opening morning in 15 years.
