So, what is your plan for tomorrow? Do you go and sit? Sit at first then roam? Do you use dogs? What is your plan?

I'm pondering taking my son and my dog. There is no way I can get either of them to sit for very long. He'll probably carry one of my air rifles and I'll back him up with my 20 gauge.

Last year I went and got nothing, then came home and shot three right behind my house! :D I try not to shoot too many in the local woods so I can train Toby.

This is Toby after retrieving his first squirrel ever! :super:

Get there early and sit. Wait for at least a squirrel or two in range before shooting one. Wait to see if there are more before moving. If I don't see squirrels fairly quick I get up and move. If they are cutting up a hickory pretty good you can hear the shells raining down.

I though about trying to take my 3 year old for the heck of it. However, I went out and cut shooting lanes around 5 trees yesterday. SPIDER WEBS EVERYWHERE!!! HOT AS HECK! Forget that...

this early in the season i am going to find low lying hickories in wind protected woods. set up facing west and let the action dictate. if action is fast, i may not have to move until half a limit is on my belt. as the morning progresses, i may focus on travelers, but definitely cutters at first light. not above taking a barker or 2...
