Friend of mine has tipical middle TN clear cut, hills and hollows, the ridges are about the only place he will be able to plant. They have poor soil and will be dry out quick in the summer time. He wants to clear the food plots and plant them this spring. Question is what should he plant? I was thanking buck wheat, maybe whitetail extreme, or chicory.

Poor soil lime lime lime. On the ridge tops if there is timber the south side of the food plots will be a little more shaded therefore will hold a little more moisture. Concentrate your energy on these areas.
