My neighbor finally planted the little field I've been playing in the last few weeks. Due to the rains, I got an extra week or 2 of walking. All these are surface finds in an area that is about an acre, actually most of the stuff was in an area of less than 1/2 an acre. Points, scrapers, a granite celt/club, a small gouge/hoe/whateveritwas, and a number of broken tips and bases. The plow has not been to kind to these rocks over the last couple hundred years.. I am hoping this fall when the crop is done with, he'll let me do some test pits to go deeper than the plow to see what if anything is on down in there.. I am thinking he will, and there is.. for now, I am probably done with that spot for a bit, it was fun and I probably got 15 hours over there..

some nice ones in a small area, is the beveled piece on top right a lost lake? hard to tell from the angle of the pic

Yea, it was fun. I went over after every good rain for a few weeks and never once got skunked. Always found 2 or 3 artifacts and sometimes would come home with a pocket full of stuff. I've got more than whats in that picture, but its just a lot of small fragments and such. Didnt find any broken pottery but you could cut your feet on all the flint chips in you walked across it barefoot.. Place seemed to me to be a hunting camp that was used for a very long time. This little spot is located on a high spot in a fork where to large creeks come together.
