I am using my yard sprayer as an example
7 tips @ 19 inch spacing = 133 inch or 11.0833 foot spray width
43,560 sq ft per acre / 11.0833 = 3930.2374 linear feet per acre
0.10 mph x 5280 feet/mile / 3600 sec/hour = 0.1467
3930.2374 / 0.1467 = 26790.9843
10 gal/acre x 128 oz/gal = 1280 ounces
1280 / 26790.9843 = 0.0478
0.0478 / 7 tips x 60 seconds =0.4097 oz per tip per 0.10 mph
example: your speed is 3.9 mph, this equals 39 tenths
39 x 0.4097 = 15.9783 ounces for 1 tip in 1 minute of spraying
what you do now is to fill sprayer with water, turn on sprayer and with a container that has ounce marks on it, catch the spray from 1 tip for 1 minute
adjust your pressure up or down until you can get as close as possible to 16 ounces in one minute
once you have done this you will now be applying 10 gallons of mixture per acre if you are able to maintain your speed properly
this will save you many dollars in chemicals
