Well, it is a long story but one of my hunting buddies was spray painting something and got some overspray on my trusty ole 30-30. Basically gives the ole gun even more personality than it already had but still, I am thinking about trying to clean it off. I have light overspray on the wood stock, the blueing on the receiver and barrel as well as on the scope and rings. Any suggestions on how (or even if it is possible) to clean it off without having to reblue?

Spray a rag with some brake clean spray for the metal parts. It may work on the stock as well but be careful with the finish.

remember to reoil the gun afterwards, the brake clean will clean all of that off as well.

PS: Try a product called GOO Gone, it will not harm any surface. It is a citrus based cleaner.
