This is one of my bottom plots, little over 1 acre. I have only had ribbon around it for two weeks, Prior to that it was open and getting hammered. I sprayed two weeks ago and with the rain the beans are booming. I will post pics of others later. Amazing difference spraying made on this plot. I think in 2-3 more weeks ths plot is going to fill in nicely, not bad for a late start.

Not sure how much getting hammering cost you in a stand but beans will do a lot better if at least twice that thick.

Short answer about $10-12 They are $1.99 for 150 ft.

For anyone who is interested here is what I have done. A few years ago I bought a plot saver and that is the stakes, tape and spray. It worked decent for the money but not the desired results.

This year I bought 50 fence posts from TSC. They are the white plastic step ones where you can put several strands of wire/tape. I also later bought 30 of the Gallager ones from Co-op. The "ribbon" that I keep reffering to is just flagging tape. It is 150' long and is $1.99 a roll. I wanted something to go around my plots at a minimum costs. This was short term until I bought the electrical tape and charger.

The ribbon has worked very well. After a few weeks and a few rains I went around the plot and wrapped the ribbon around the posts to tighten the sagging. This weekend I rana second strand around most of my plots and in a few weeks will finish it.

Even as fragile as the ribbon is it has not ripped. I believe it adds a "3d" effect and a slight breeze causes the ribbon to move and keep edgey deer away. Make no mistake deer are still getting in my plots but I believe some won't enter because of the movement. I did see a bean plant that was one the edge of my plot in some weeds, it was easily 4 feet tall. That is how much this has been getting browsed. Next year I will have the electrical tape and two plots with electrical but so far this year it is working.

In a nutshell I have 4 plots done this way for a minimum investment and this year plan to be hunting over beans in early bowseason. If anyone is interested I have more pics and can help if you need.

I should have been more clear but the plotsaver has an absorbent material that you use to fence your plots off. The other ribbon I have been using is more of an elastic plastic. Saturday is the first time this year that I sprayed the plotsaver ribbon. All of the growth so far has been from no chemical spray/ deterant.
