How long after the soybeans turn competent brown do you find it takes for the deer to really start hammering then again?

I usually don't see deer touch them when they start to yellow until they are cut. They they vaccum them up

What I've seen is, it depends. When it gets cold they'll really definitely get on them again but I've also seen it vary depending on what other food is available. In really good acorn years, might not be until much later in the season. If they haven't been combined yet, sometimes they stay on beans because it's easy pickings. If there's green stuff available like winter wheat or some other cover crop they'll be on that vs. having to sift through combined residue.

Kinda have to play it by ear.

There's a bean field been cut for a couple weeks already and I've seen deer out there several times since they cut it...of course this is an un-hunted field with a large population so I see deer there all the time. I'm not sure what they're eating in there

I've watched them eat them in every stage. Watched bucks opening day browse on dry beans until they hit my clover plot.

It's just like minerals, year round if they're still standing.
