Soy bean ambush?

I know it may change before opener but I'm really confident I have my big one patterned. Even if it does change the deer are still traveling the field edge. Problem tho, not one I mean 1 climbable tree. Beans are 4ft tall. Thinking about sitting in the field and catch em coming across the trail that's only 2ft tall. Anybody tried it?

Isn't there some brush along the edge of the beans where you could some sort of blind with either brush or camo burlap, etc? I'm afraid a head poking up out of something as uniform in height as a soybean field will be mighty easy for a deer to see. Especially this older buck you have your sights on.

I was thinking about that the other day... make or find a bare patch in the field to sit down in. Just peek over the top very carefully so they don't spot you. Draw back while crouched down and then slowly raise up at full draw. Wouldn't be easy but would be doable. If the deer are eating beans you can go unseen while they have their head down

If you're attempting a blind you better go ahead and put it up. Otherwise I'd wait until I was ready to hunt, pull a few bean stalks, and stack them on existing beans to make them appear a little higher than there are. This might give you a shot opportunity. Either that or a tripod.

That's the key word. "THEY". It would be tough to pull off having more than one set of eyes watching.

Maybe if I went to the army Navy store and bought a small parts cope I wouldn't have to peek up. Tie some beans on my hat like the Vietnamese did.

I honestly think if we're a windy day it could be pulled off.

Watched a guy on a hunting show attach some beans to his hat and shoulders and sat in the beans. He ended up killing a nice buck doing that technique.

It's not impossible. Where a leaf suit/ hat or hood.. Will make a big difference. It would be a lot more plausible with a crossbow. I'd build a natural blind, even possibly in beans, but it's getting close to season now. What your thinkin could be done, but you'll have to be in super stealth mode. And still a good chance you'll get busted..

I had the same situation in Kansas a few years back. I dug a small pit that allowed me to get down in a semi comfortable position and the deer walk by within 30 yrds never knew I was there.
