How good or bad is sorghum for a food plot? We might have a farmer joining our lease to give him some more pasture and he mentioned growing sorghum...

All I know about it, is it a ceral or bran and sweet sorghum is used in syrups and molasses's

I like sorghum myself. It does come in several forms. Milo is a form of sorghum and is what I always plant. I have found that the deer eat the tops when it is in the doughy stage. I did plant mine in east tn and it done well. Turkeys like it and it is a good all around food plot for many differnt types for wildlife. It also makes a really good edge/ buffer around an existing food plot of 8-15 ft wide.
