For you sorghum planters, I think I am going to try a few bags this year to see how our deer like it. How much do you typically plant per acre (broadcasted)? When do they typically like to feed on this sorghum? We are planting corn and beans as well but first time to experiment with sorghum...

Planted about 1.5 acres for the first time last year and the deer, turkeys, and songbirds had a ball. I think the deer like it best in that mid to late summer milk and dough stages but we saw them eating the heads all through the hunting season. The turkeys enjoy them after they've dried down and I drove the ATV through them a few times to knock some down during the colder months.

It's cheap and we plan on planting some more this year...broadcast at about 50lb to the acre yields a great stand.

Thanks! Kinda along the lines of what I was thinking. We have 150#'s to plant and try this year.
