So the new Stihl did a great job. I cut down a total of 7 trees in my plot (about 5 more to go). Half of those that I cut are cut up and ready to be hauled off as soon as it dries out. After about 4 tanks and having to haul the saws and gas in I was too tired to be cutting by myself anymore. Here are the before and afters:
Before:
After:
I pulled my final trail camera of the year and have two new bucks that made it through. One will certainly be a shooter next year. This makes 5 8's or better that I have on cam after the season, but Im still missing the 130 10pt...haven't heard of him being killed and he's shown up the past two years the first of November so maybe he's still around.
I rewarded myself with a nice dinner at the house:
Finally, yesterday I scouted some public land spots. I didn't take any pics, but I did walk over 5 miles and found a lot of good sign and got spots in the GPS...now I gotta get them on google earth and look at desired wind directions.
Overall a great weekend.
