From what I'm reading, this winter will be colder than normal and our first freeze will be sooner than normal.

Hope it is wrong. I have some farmer friends that were way late getting their crops in due to the super wet spring making it impossible to plant and in a lot of fields having to re-plant. The first major frost pretty much stops any further growth of their beans. They need normal or later than normal this year.

Once it gets to harvest time, I'm all in for a bitter cold fall and winter like we used to have!

yeah but that's not what noaa released last month with their unofficial long range release. but could be some wild swings since el nino is done. i imagine some of these forecasters are taking into account how the solar minimum will affect weather patterns. but then again, long range forecast are about 50% so flip a coin.
