Is a Sony cybershot any good to make a homebrew from?

Yep. Good camera. Kinda a difficult build because it requires a snorkel and the flash is close to the lens assembly. Easy hack and easy IR hack if a IR camera is what you want. I will help you along any way I can. Good luck.....

Kinda wanting a flash cam. I got some powder river cat call to put out in hopes of gettin some bobcat and fox pics. Need the flash for color night pics. What would it cost to build?

EASY HACK...I would say it is one of the hardest hacks you will ever do,If it is your first build..I suggest you watch buckshots video on the W1,You have to pull 4 ribbons and 2 screws just to remove the main board.I would save it for a future build.
