I've never hunted bears before, and maybe never will. The question I had though is interesting. The guys were "smoking honey" to allow the scent to drift and lure in bears. If you aren't actually feeding them honey, would this be legal? They didn't feed them either, they just used the scent to attract them to their stands.

There is enough gray area there that it would be open to interpretation. Before I did it, I would contact the local officer and get their take on it.
