Cut down a bunch of trees around my walnut tree that I just climbed. This is my 3rd hunt from this tree and I saw deer the last 2 times and someone has cut big wide shooting lanes since the last time I was here. I feel a bit exposed but hope I can shoot one. I will definitely be talking to the area mgr after I climb down as I doubt he would approve cutting down multiple trees over 4" in diameter. Someone thinks this is their own little honey hole I guess.

When you go back next time there probably will be a ladder stand there. Lol hate it for the spot you had picked out.

Whoever cut these trees.... Well, there's one deer out here he won't be shooting, cause I just killed it!

Ah don't worry about it...they may think the same about you for not cutting enough to begin with...
lol nobody would know I was ever there unless they looked close and saw the climber marks. I'm the one following the rules and not cutting any live trees without approval...

When you have another 10 years under your belt
You may learn if you found it others had been
hunting it before you

As far as climber marks, it's the same you learn
With time in the woods just looking... Not for deer
or deer sign that people have hunted there before
you and left sign.

Trail Cams, Videos, Books, Magazines , TV shows
And New Equipment don't make up for time in
the woods and boots on the ground. Many TN
Deer hunters earned their Stripes from squirrel hunting
Back before deer were around.

They are on this site too, could be a lowly 4 or 6
Pointer in posts, they just don't talk much, and
they sure don't ask what's my next move while
Setting in the woods....

But hey that's when a 18 month old 8 pointer
was a big thing and a 100" buck was talked about
for months....

Last I heard you need a permit to cut down trees. trimming some limbs and cutting down trees are entirely different things. Sounds like someone is thinking Big Gun and long shots. Glad you got one Catman.

I don't know bout the permit. But it's bow-only so I sure hope nobody is using a big gun.

Dude it's Haley Jaqueth....quit being all covert about where you are at lol
dude it's 200 acres of mostly fields, I wouldn't go telling everyone if I were to hunt there, there isn't much room to share

I mean you pretty much give it away in your posts. Try to not be as obvious lol

I have never been to wherever it is so it isn't obvious to me. And just because you do recognize the place, why do you feel like it's your duty to broadcast it. I guess your TNDeer name says it all. Knucklehead :D

yeah kinda was a bs move...if you find a honey hole on public land better keep it to yourself cause you better believe you will be elbows and * deep before u know it

Screen name says it all guys. Catman keep up the good work. You have killed more deer on public land that I have seen on my private 80 acres. I stopped reading your post cause it frustrates the heck out of me lol. Deer gods haven't been on my side this year at all
