Up a tree in Middle TN

At around 2:45 I dropped that hammer this evening and when the smoke(lessness) cleared I just couldn't understand. The doe ran a little but didn't act hit at all. She came back as I was reloading and was going back to feeding until the dogs ran all three of them off. Anyway. You can see in this picture why it was a clean miss. Nice hit on the tree limb.

That's how it goes. Had fun today and I really thank God for the opportunity.

If it makes you feel any better I missed a freaking monster at 60 yards. I have no excuses though I was in a bush-hogged path in an overgrown field crouched down watching some young bucks in front of me. I had the big deer come in behind me and I had to spin around on my knees and try to shoot him. I think I pulled it to the right. I thought I nailed him though he took off head down just bulldozing through the brush, but I looked for hair, blood, anything for 5 hours and found nothing. We only have 1 daylight picture of this deer in two years so we may never see him again. But I was fortunate to get to lay eyes on him and it's something I'll never forget. I was thinking about it and I don't think I've missed a buck in over 10 years so I guess I was due one.
