SOIL SAMPLE - Wet

With our current weather patterns , our latest and biggest food plot is still wet. Ready to sample soil and figure out how to get it limed.
Question is : If I take samples wet , can I dry in the oven before sending and NOT affect the content ?

Take your samples and spread on paper plates to dry naturally. When dry crumble the tubes of soil and send to the lab. This method was recomenned by a county agent when the samples taken were very wet(mud).

Good topic. I've been wanting to get a soil test done myself but our fields have looked like chocolate pudding for quite a while.

how will a wet soil sample skew the results of your soil test?

It can change the chemical composition as well as begin to grow molds that will skew the results.
